Fluconazole Capsules 150mg
Fluconazole is indicated for the treatment of the following fungal infections. In adults, Fluconazole is indicated for the treatment of:
- Cryptococcal meningitis.
- Coccidioidomycosis.
- Invasive candidiasis.
- Mucosal candidiasis, including oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis, candiduria, and chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis.
- Chronic atrophic oral candidiasis (associated with the use of dentures) when dental hygiene or topical treatment is insufficient.
- Acute or recurrent vaginal candidiasis when local therapy is not appropriate.
- Candida balanitis when local therapy is not appropriate.
- Dermatomycoses, including those caused by Tinea pedis, Tinea corporis, Tinea cruris, Tinea versicolor, and cutaneous candidiasis when systemic therapy is indicated.
- Treatment of Tinea unguium (onychomycosis) when first-line treatments are considered inappropriate. In adults, Fluconazole is indicated for prophylaxis of:
- Recurrent cryptococcal meningitis in patients at high risk of relapse.
- Recurrent oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis in HIV-infected patients at high risk of relapse.
- Reducing the incidence of recurrent vaginal candidiasis (4 or more episodes per year).
- Candida infections prophylaxis in patients with prolonged neutropenia (such as patients with hematological malignancies receiving chemotherapy or patients undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation). Fluconazole is indicated in neonates, infants, children, and adolescents aged 0 to 17 years old: Fluconazole is used for the treatment of mucosal candidiasis (oropharyngeal and esophageal), invasive candidiasis, cryptococcal meningitis, and Candida infections prophylaxis in immunocompromised patients. Fluconazole may be used as maintenance therapy to prevent relapses of cryptococcal meningitis in patients at high risk of recurrence.
