Atorvastatin 10mg Tablets
- Hypercholesterolemia
- Atorvastatin is indicated as an additional treatment to diet in the reduction of elevated levels of total cholesterol (C-total), LDL cholesterol (C-LDL), apolipoprotein B, and triglycerides in adults, adolescents, and children aged 10 years and older with primary hypercholesterolemia, including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia or mixed (combined) hyperlipidemia (corresponding to types IIa and IIb of the Fredrickson classification), when the response obtained with diet or other non-pharmacological measures has been inadequate.
- Atorvastatin is also indicated to reduce total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol in adults with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, in combination therapy with other lipid-lowering treatments (e.g., LDL apheresis) or if these treatments are not available.
- Prevention of cardiovascular disease
- Prevention of cardiovascular events in adults considered at high risk of experiencing a first cardiovascular event, as an adjunct to the correction of other risk factors.
