Esomeprazole for Injection 40mg
ESOMEPRAZOLE is indicated for the short and long-term treatment of signs and symptoms related to acid-peptic disorders. ESOMEPRAZOLE is recommended as an alternative in cases where oral treatment is not appropriate. The IV treatment may only constitute part of a complete treatment period for the following indications: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD):
- Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis.
- Long-term management of patients with healed esophagitis to prevent relapse.
- Symptomatic treatment of GERD. Patients requiring continuous therapy with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs):
- Healing of gastric ulcers associated with NSAID therapy.
- Prevention in patients at high risk of gastric and duodenal ulcers associated with NSAID therapy. ESOMEPRAZOLE is indicated for short-term maintenance of hemostasis and prevention of rebleeding in patients after therapeutic endoscopy for acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding (acute gastric bleeding or duodenal ulcers).
