Dexamethasone Injection 4mg/mL
Dexamethasone 4 mg/ml Injectable solution is indicated for acute conditions where oral glucocorticosteroid treatment is not feasible, such as shock of hemorrhagic, traumatic, surgical, or septic origin; cerebral edema associated with brain neoplasms; inflammatory joint and soft tissue diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. Short-term treatment of acute and self-limiting allergic disorders, such as angioedema or acute exacerbation of chronic allergic diseases, such as bronchial asthma or serum sickness. High doses of dexamethasone are indicated as adjunctive treatment in shock, where high doses of corticosteroids are needed. There is no evidence that the use of corticosteroids in septic shock affects long-term mortality. Its use should be accompanied by appropriate systemic antibiotic treatment and concomitant supportive measures that the patient may require.
