Lidocaine for Injection 1%
Plain Lidocaine: It is used in local anesthesia procedures such as wound infiltration for treatment or analgesia, intra-articular infiltration, and arthroscopies (diagnostic or therapeutic procedures). In Bier block or regional intravenous anesthesia, it is used as an intravenous infusion, always with the area localized with a tourniquet, as it is useful for short-duration emergency procedures. In loco-regional anesthesia, it is used for various peripheral nerve blocks, both major and minor, for surgical maneuvers and pain therapy, such as brachial plexus blocks, retrobulbar block, pedial block, digital block, trigger point block, among others. Central nerve blocks are used for surgical maneuvers or algological therapy in the treatment of chronic pain, such as epidural block or subarachnoid block. Additionally, it is used in other procedures where lidocaine without epinephrine is used as a cell membrane protector, analgesic, and to reduce anesthetic requirements in anesthesiological therapy in neurosurgery using it as an infusion. It can also be used as an antiarrhythmic treatment in cardiology. It is used as part of inhalation therapy in nebulizations. Lidocaine with epinephrine: Used in local anesthesia procedures for wound infiltration for treatment or analgesia, intra-articular infiltration, as an adjuvant, or basic anesthetic in short-duration procedures in plastic surgery, dermatological surgery, and otorhinolaryngological surgery. In loco-regional anesthesia, it is used for all types of peripheral nerve blocks, either for surgical maneuvers or pain therapy. In central nerve blocks, it is also used for surgical maneuvers or algological therapy.
